We get new products in all the time (aka, daily), which makes it hard to keep up with the updated inventory unless you’re a very dedicated customer keeping an watchful eye on our website. Of course, we hope you are. 😉

But to make things easier, we decided to do some of the work for you!

We asked Jenny, one of ACK’s Buyers, for five products to spotlight out of the larger selection.

Here they are, covering kayak fishing, biking, camping, and all-around adventuring:

Kayak Fishing Pick: Humminbird Helix 5 CHIRP Sonar/GPS G2 Combo Fishfinder

If you’re looking to upgrade your fish finder (or just get an premium model from the get-go), this is a great choice. Features include GPS, a wide range of sonar frequencies, and an impressive user-friendly color display screen, so it’s really the cream of the crop when it comes to fish finders. Unsure about what exactly you’re looking for when it comes to fish finders, or even what they do? Here’s some old blogs of our that are good starter resources to explain your options: Understanding Fish Finders & Fish Finders: Your Eyes Underwater.

Biking Pick: Thule ProRide Bike Rack

Upright bike carrier for the quickest, most convenient mounting – for bikes up to 20 kg.
Upright bike carrier for the quickest, most convenient mounting – for bikes up to 44 lbs.

If you’re planning on taking your bike to the trails or on a camping trip, you’re going to need a rack for your car! The Thule ProRide is a universal rack that minimizes any possibility of frame damage through its padded “claws” that support your bike. You’re probably used to seeing hitch and trunk racks for bikes, but this is an upright (roof) rack. What are some advantages to the upright design? They’re the most stable; it’ll hold your bike by distributing pressure, there’s no chance that your bike will scratch your car’s paint, and people generally appreciate that they’re out-of-sight!

Kayak Fishing Pick: Perception Pescador Pilot 12 Pedal Kayak

New yak alert for hands-free fishing! If you’re into pedaling over paddling (more info on the pros and cons), Perception’s latest is an affordable option. It’s a sit-on-top kayak designed specifically for kayak fishing because of all of its built-in fishing features (i.e. molded-in rod holders). We’ve gotten great reviews about its stability and maneuverability, including the smoothness of the pedal drive.

Camping Pick: Kammok Wallaby Hammock

Hammocks are magical. If you don’t think so, ask a friend to borrow theirs, find a quiet, shady spot, and take a hammock nap. Your concept of relaxation will be redefined, I promise. Their portability makes them capable of transferring any area into a chill spot; the Wallaby is specifically designed to be extra light and extra strong (but ripping shouldn’t even be a concern given Kammok’s lifetime warranty.

We carry the Wallaby in some fun, bright colors: Gold Coast, Nakuru Blue and Zikler Green.

Not only is it an awesome deal, but your purchase has a social impact: In an effort to make the outdoors accessible to all, Kammok’s Give Adventure initiative gives 1% of revenue to local non-profit Explore Austin, which supports youth leadership training through outdoor adventure.

All-Around Adventuring Pick: NRS Phantom Jacket – Women

Why hoard a bunch of different jackets for multiple activities when you really only need one? Whether you’re paddling, hiking or cycling, this breathable versatile jacket is guaranteed to keep your body temperature up without trapping you in your own sweat.

Note: It’s not a rain jacket so it’s not fully waterproof, but it is coated with durable water repellent to repel light moisture.

That’s all we got for now! Check out the full selection of our new products here, and we’ll continue providing you with new product pick spotlights each month.
